ARMENIA, Cilician Armenia – Levon I, 1198-1219, Silver Tram. Minted in Sis.

Obverse: Levon I seated on a throne ornamented with lions, holding a cross and a fleur-de-lis, symbolizing his faith and authority. Inscribed in Armenian:  "ԼԵՒՈՆ ԹԱԳԱՒՈՐ ՀԱՅՈՑ" (Levon, King of the Armenians).

Reverse: Two lions rampant back-to-back with heads turned, flanking a patriarchal cross with two bars at the center. Inscribed in Armenian:  "ՇԻՆԵԱԼ ԶՔԱՂԱՔ ՍԻՍ" ("Built the city Sis"),

This example with light toning and minor surface marks, showcasing the artistry and symbolism of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. A rare and historical piece for discerning collectors.
