Issued during the later years of Constantius II’s reign, this small bronze AE4 emphasizes hope and continuity in the Roman state through its reverse imagery.

Legend: D N CONSTANTIVS P F AVG – “Our Lord Constantius, Dutiful and Fortunate Augustus.” -
Reverse: The emperor stands left, holding a globe and spear, representing Rome's dominion and future.
Legend: SPES REIPVBLICE – “Hope of the Republic.”
Mintmark: ALEΓ – struck at Alexandria, 3rd officina.
A well-preserved and attractively patinated example of this late Roman type, reflecting the blend of classical symbolism and political messaging typical of the Constantinian dynasty.
