
Constantine II as Caesar (AD 333–335) Roman Bronze Follis
Description
Struck during the final years of Constantine the Great’s reign, this bronze follis honors his son Constantine II, who held the title of Caesar from AD 317 to 337.

Obverse: Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantine II right. Legend: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C (“Constantine Junior, Noble Caesar”).

Reverse: GLORIA EXERCITVS – “Glory of the Army.” Two helmeted soldiers stand facing, each holding an inverted spear and shield, with two military standards between them.
Mintmark: SMAL in exergue (Sacra Moneta Alexandria), with A for the 1st officina beneath the ground line.
This beautifully preserved coin features a strong portrait, sharp details, and a lovely natural patina. A classic type celebrating military strength and imperial unity during the Constantinian dynasty.
