Description

An exceptional and rare bronze tetrachalkon issued by King Mithradates of Armenia Minor in the early 2nd century BC. The obverse features a draped bust of Mithradates facing left, wearing an upright bashlyk, a traditional pointed headdress associated with nobility and Eastern identity. The reverse displays a detailed bee, an ancient symbol of fertility and divine favor.

Both sides bear the Aramaic legend 𐡌𐡕𐡓𐡃𐡕 ('mtrdt'), representing the king's name and authority.

Despite minor flan faults, the coin remains in fine condition and is a significant artifact of Hellenistic-era Armenian coinage.
A very rare and desirable piece for advanced collectors of ancient Armenian or Eastern coinage.
