• Obverse: Facing busts of Basil I, bearded and in imperial loros, and Constantine, youthful and beardless in chlamys; both crowned and holding a labarum together—a powerful symbol of shared rule and divine sanction.

• Reverse: Inscription in five lines: "BASIL S CONSTANTINOS EH ΘO BASILEIS ROMAION" (Basil and Constantine, Emperors of the Romans by the grace of God).
